Netherlands beats Nepal by 4 wickets to win T20I title

Netherlands has won the title of the T20I triangular series by defeating Nepal by four wickets at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday.

Chasing the 185-run target set by Nepal, the Dutch team reached it in 19.3 overs losing six wickets.

Michael Levitt topped the score with 54 runs including six fours and three sixes off 29 balls followed by Sybrand Engelbrecht with 48 runs while Sybrand Engelbrecht and Sybrand Engelbrecht contributed 29 and 23 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.

In reply, Kushal Malla took the highest four runs while Abinash Bohara and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed one wicket each.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday, Nepal notched up 184 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Aasif Sheikh topped the score with 47 runs including one four and three sixes off 37 balls followed by Gulsan Jha with 34 runs while Gulsan Jha and captain Rohit Paudel contributed 26 and 25 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.

On the bowling side, Fred Klaassen, Timm van der Gugten, Michael Levitt and Sybrand Engelbrecht grabbed two wickets each for Netherlands.
