The Ministry of Youth and Sports has expressed its objection over the foreign visit of 10 officials of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
The Ministry has directed the National Sports Council to take action against ANFA after the officials were found to gone abroad without taking permission of the NSC.
National Sports Development Act, 2077 provides that a prior approval is necessary from the NSC for officials to go on an official trip abroad.
The national football team of Nepal is playing a friendly match against Malaysia on March 15 in the leading to the world cup qualifiers. After the friendly match with Malaysia, the Nepali team is scheduled to play two ‘Home and Away’ matches with Bahrain on March 21 and 26.
Ten ANFA officials joined the Nepali team that is currently in Malaysia. Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the Ministry has also urged the Home Ministry to allow sports official to go on foreign visit to participate in international match, training, seminar and conference only after NSC’s approval.
